Fifth Grade Spelling Bee

For over 20 years, The Woman's Club of Medford has conducted a spelling bee for local 5th grade students.  This well attended event is one of the highlights of our year.  The top finishers are eligible to move on to the NJSFWC Garden District Bee and in turn the NJSFWC State Bee.

Our club sponsors a scholarship for senior girls who intend to further their education beyond high school graduation.  The essay based competition is available to any senior female residing within the 08055 zip code.  Further information including the essay question is available in early Spring. 

Members get together about once a month to discuss books.  Our reading list has included such classics as 'The Count of Monte Cristo' and 'A Christmas Carol' as well as more recent titles such as 'Lincoln in the Bardo' and 'The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.'
